The weekly Mehfil e dhikr and Durood sharif gathering was held at Jamia Masjid Madinat al Zahra.

The program commenced with a soulful recitation of the Holy Qur’an by Allama Adeel Ahmad followed by short talks by Madinat al Zahra’s students and heartfelt renditions of Na’at-e-Rasool by Atif Riaz Qadri and Muhammad Ijaz Qadri.

Allama Adeel Ahmad, serving as the host for the evening, then invited the respected Shaykh Muhammad Afzal Saeedi Sahib to deliver his weekly address.

🕌 Dhikr GatheringIn this week’s mehfil e dhikr, we honoured the blessed life of Huzoor Data Ganj Bakhsh Ali bin Usman Hujwairi (رحمة الله عليه).The Shaykh’s talk was based on the chapter “Manners of Eating” from Kashf al-Mahjūb.

🌿 Surah Al-Hijr – Verses 2–3

The disbelievers will often wish (in the Hereafter) that they had been Muslims.Leave them to eat and enjoy themselves, and let false hope distract them, for soon they will know.

📖 Teachings from Kashf al-Mahjūb

“Food is essential for human beings. The peace of one’s temperament is maintained through eating and drinking, but one should not indulge in excess, nor be constantly preoccupied with thoughts of food.”

Imam Shafi‘i (رحمة الله عليه) said:

“Whoever’s main concern is what enters his stomach, his worth is only what comes out of it.”

For seekers of truth, overeating is the most harmful thing.

🌙 Lessons from the Pious

Hazrat Bayazid (رحمة الله عليه) said:“If Pharaoh had been hungry, he would never have said, ‘I am your supreme lord.’” If Qarun had been hungry, he would not have shown arrogance.

* When Tha‘labah was hungry, he was praised. When he became full, hypocrisy entered his heart.

“You have already exhausted your share of pleasures in worldly life... today you will be punished with disgrace.”(Al-Ahqaf 46:20)
